Closeup of forward Shuttle/ET attach point Shown is the forward ET attach point and the bipod area. The liquid oxygen feed line and data feeds in the foreground Closeup of the newly-designed left bipod attach point. Heaters replaced the foam insulation that covered these points on previous ET's. It was at this point that the foam separated from the ET and fatally wounded Columbia during her ascent to orbit.
