STEREO (Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory) is the third mission in NASA's Solar Terrestrial Probes program. This two-year mission will employ two nearly identical space-based observatories - one ahead of Earth in its orbit, the other trailing behind - to provide the first-ever stereoscopic (3D) measurements to study the Sun and the nature of its coronal mass ejections, or CMEs.
STEREO was launched at 9:52 pm EDT, October 25, 2006 and was successfully inserted into orbit.

T+22 seconds At T+31 seconds a pressure wave can be seen moving down the faring. As the faring pressure wave moves down pressure waves can be seen building on the tops of the SRB casings.

The pressure waves will roll off their curved surfaces and dissipate. At T+33 the pressure wave at the faring has rolled under and is breaking up while the SRB wave is beginning to cascade down the sides of the boosters. The pressure wave is gone at T+34.
