Discovery on Pad 39A as the sun rises. Discovery is at the beginning of its long preparation on Pad 39A for the STS-124 mission. The re-designed External Tank, part of the post-Columbia upgrades, can be seen as Discovery is secured on Pad 39A.

As the crawler heads down the ramp, the vapor cap is moved into position over the External Tank as Discovery is prepared for STS-124. Discovery on Pad 39A as the early morning sun rises higher in the sky. As the Crawler-Transporter retreats down the ramp, Discovery is secured on Pad 39A.
